The project aims to prepare early intervention
(EI) service providers for implementation of a team-based primary service
provider (PSP) system. Two EI teams will receive professional development
and coaching on an enhanced service delivery system utilizing primary
service providers and consultants in order to provide integrated, family-centered
services and supports for children in their communities. The amount of
time and total costs needed to implement the team-based PSP system will
be determined through an analysis of the model over a 6-month period.
Common threads woven throughout the professional development plan include:
- teamwork as a vehicle for coordinated high quality service delivery
- coaching and mentoring between team members
- primary service provider as a “coach” to families
- problem solving processes
- using supportive technology for E-learning
- self reflection on values, skills, and knowledge regarding the team-based
PSP system
- moving Florida forward to meet the needs of all children and families
This project is funded by a grant from the Florida Department of Health
